Looking at the journey in the Snake Eater operation, I remembered The Boss and its tragic story, which made tears flow, the torture of Volgin, Sokolov, the incredible finale with Volgin with CQC and Shagohod, the chase with Eva on a bike, as if in some kind of Bond. And hide and seek with the guards just made me happy in this jungle with the same Grozny Grad base. The battles with bosses surprised me even now, after so many years, what are the battles with The End, The Fear, The Boss, The Fury, The Pain worth – even now this will not be repeated in any way, knowing the current approach of developers to modern games.
Having completed MGS3, I don’t regret the time spent. Even considering how many times I replayed it, I didn’t get tired of it at all, I completely mastered the gameplay, stealth, and its seemingly complex CQC techniques, which turned out to be easy to learn. Remembering the plot of MGS3, I want to cry from happiness and grief, primarily from the grief that Snake suffered while looking at the grave of the Boss, who was everything in his life. For me, Big Boss is, first of all, a person who does not bend to anything in the face of a great threat such as Volgin, the Cobra team and Shagahod with the same robots from PW and PW himself. This man could not forgive himself for many years and tried to make the world a better place, dreaming of the world that the Boss wanted to see since then. But in realizing the end of the era of the series at the end of the 4th, he gives me as a player a simple truth – you need to appreciate the world for what it is and try to live for yourself, value your life. Don’t waste it on pointless wars. For us, as for me, the war is over, it’s time to put down our weapons. Appreciate what you have, but the meaning of life is to find the happiness that you have deserved for many years. For me, as a person who was in MGS3 and PW for many years, Big Boss said exactly this in the 4th part. What he says to Solid Snake is an appeal to us players, he is trying to convey to us the truth. To show that what is not in this world depends on war, to show by example that no matter what dreams pursue us, sometimes it is better to leave them as nothing more than a dream than to try to change the world for the better, not knowing what consequences may await you in the future, that changes will not always affect everyone well, that war cannot always stop. For me, Big Boss has always been and remains my favorite character in the games and the Metal Gear Solid series. That’s why I love this character and he changed my worldview as a person for the better. After all, a person who went through hell and pain was looking for redemption, remission of his sins. He found it by meeting his son at the grave of the love of his life and getting the peace he wanted. I hope you understood what I wanted to say. I hope these were not empty words. Be human, don’t make mistakes. Appreciate the world you are in. And above all, remain human. Be happy and don’t make the same mistakes I did.
